PRO PT’s Story. . . MISSION STATEMENT
Preston Rehabilitation and Orthopedic
Physical Therapy, PRO PT, opened its doors on August 1st, 2000 under the
ownership of Teresa Reynolds, PT MBA and Shanda
Reynolds McNew, MPT. The
mother-daughter team recognized the importance of providing
quality, close to home physical therapy services to the Preston County area and
has emphasized personal, hands-on care ever since. PRO PT was founded on only a
few simple fundamental values: 1) treat every patient exactly the way you would
want your own child, spouse, parent, or grandparent treated; 2) take care of
the entire person, always looking at the big picture as many seemingly
unrelated issues can all impact one another; and 3) spend any and all necessary
time with your patients while only charging rates you feel are fair and
reasonable and allow you to sleep easily at night. Shanda and Teresa have always focused on
treating their patients like family and the true friends they have become over
the years.
In October 2005, PRO PT moved from its
original facility and opened a new, larger state-of-art site along Route 7 in
Kingwood. With the area’s growing physical therapy demand, PRO PT needed to
better accommodate for its patients, add space to provide more personalized
care, and introduce new treatment options. The clinic features an expanded
fitness area for patients and community members, enhancements to PRO PT’s
current pediatric, geriatric, balance and fall prevention, orthopedic and
surgery aftercare, and sports medicine programs, added wound care management,
and a heated indoor therapy pool for aquatic therapy. Then in May 2014, to better serve the
expansive Preston County and surrounding areas, PRO PT announced the opening of
an additional facility in Masontown. Under the direction of Tiffany Dolly, DPT,
the staff in this location have opened their hearts to the Valley district
communities and continue to provide the experienced professional, yet personal,
relationship-focused physical therapy care that PRO PT was founded on.
In 2016, when Teresa retired to devote her
time to being “Nan” to her 3 grandsons and Harley-riding with the love of her
life, Shanda and her husband Glen took a leap of faith and bought PRO PT in its
entirety, making the mother-daughter duo now a husband-and-wife team, but still
rooted in the same 3 fundamental principles and armed with the invaluable
mentorship Teresa taught them over the years and continues to provide moving
forward. Shanda and Glen have been very
fortunate, blessed with a growing clinic that continues to be well received in
the Preston County area with 2 locations currently. However, the owners truly credit PRO PT’s
success to the amazing team of therapists and supportive staff that take
phenomenal care of our patients and our community. At both locations, PRO PT now employs five
full time physical therapists and two physical therapy assistants as well as
eleven of the most amazing and dedicated support staff, all of whom take pride
in improving our patients’ lives through a personable, goal-oriented, hands-on
approach to physical therapy.
Shanda and Glen are pleased to be able to
offer comprehensive physical therapy services for their friends and neighbors,
where they have chosen to raise their two sons, and in the place
they will forever call “home.” “We have
an exceptional staff that understands that no one ever wants to need physical
therapy, but when they do, it is our mission to make an imperfect situation the
best it can possibly be. No one wants
physical therapy, but they do want their life back. . . our team will help you
get there and make the process as enjoyable as possible along the way.” In the future, PRO PT hopes to continue to
build on its already strong community relationships and commits to remaining Preston
County’s “key
to quality rehabilitation".
